Fireboats battle the blazing remnants of the Deepwater Horizon oil rig off the coast of Louisiana on April 21. The rig burned for 36 hours before sinking in the Gulf of Mexico. Eleven workers died, and 17 were injured in the explosion that triggered one the largest oil spills in history.
